About Greencheq
What is Greencheq?
Greencheq is AI-powered green marketing claim infrastructure that saves employee time while mitigating greenwashing risk. It checks environmental and social marketing claims, such as "recycled content", "non-toxic" or "responsible sourcing", against region-specific regulations and guidance, and provides actionable recommendations.
It supports the whole claim drafting and approval process, from ideation through reviews, edits and publication, with embedded claim editing, claim substantiation uploads and internal approval routing. Along the way it captures your institutional memory, so you don't have to recreate the wheel the next time you make a similar claim.
Is Greencheq compliance software?
No. Greencheq is AI-powered green marketing claim infrastructure: the system of record where your team drafts, assesses, substantiates, approves and reuses environmental and social claims. Regulatory checks are one part of that workflow, not the whole product.
Compliance decisions stay with your team and counsel, and Greencheq gives them the structure, evidence and history to make them faster.
Who is Greencheq for?
Greencheq is built for the people who write, approve and defend sustainability claims: brand and marketing teams, sustainability managers, and in-house legal and compliance teams.
Pro suits a single practitioner who wants to provide a consistent, structured review for claims. Team and Enterprise suit divisions and multi-brand organizations that review claims across products and markets.
What problem does Greencheq solve?
Greencheq reduces the time to publish each claim while mitigating greenwashing risk. Drafting and approving claims usually means updating long internal playbooks, email chains with too many colleagues and tedious video calls reviewing every word, just to recreate the wheel the next time you want to make a similar claim.
Vague or unsupported environmental claims attract regulator action, consumer class actions and competitor challenges. According to the European Commission, 53% of green claims give vague, misleading or unfounded information. Greencheq gives your team a consistent, documented first review of every claim, so gaps are found and fixed before a claim reaches packaging, a product page or an ad.
Does Greencheq replace my lawyer or compliance consultant?
No. Greencheq informs human review by your team and counsel; it does not replace it. It gives reviewers a faster, structured starting point: the claim type, the rules that apply, the documentation recommended, what is missing, and how risky the claim is. Final decisions stay with your people.
Is Greencheq a certification or an ecolabel?
No. Greencheq does not verify, certify or label claims. It assesses how a claim is worded and supported against published rules and best practice, and records your team's review and approval. If you need third-party certification, Greencheq can flag where a recognized scheme would strengthen a claim.
How Greencheq works
How does Greencheq review a green claim?
You submit your marketing text and Greencheq identifies each environmental claim in it, classifies it, and checks it against the applicable rules. If more context is needed to complete your Greencheq Claim Assessment, you are prompted for clarification. Every claim then moves through six steps:
- Draft Claims: enter the text from a label, product page, ad or campaign.
- Greencheq Assessment: each claim is reviewed against market-specific regulations, and recommendations are shared.
- Edit Claim: your team adds missing qualifiers and context to better inform your customers.
- Substantiate Claim: your team uploads relevant documentation and supporting evidence.
- Secure Approvals: reviewers comment on and approve the final claim.
- Publish Claim: the approved claim and its review history are saved for your records.
What types of claims can Greencheq check?
Greencheq checks environmental and social claims made about a product, its packaging or its ingredients. Its expert-built claims database covers more than 300 claim types (and growing) across 10 categories: audio-visual, composition, emissions, end-of-life, energy, general, health, logistics, social and water.
The Greencheq team maintains the database, so it keeps pace with new regulations and claim trends.
What are qualifiers?
Qualifiers are the conditions a claim must meet to be accurate, specific and not misleading, such as naming what a product is free of or stating its share of recycled content. Each qualifier comes from a regulation, a guidance document or Greencheq best practice.
For example, the FTC Green Guides say a "free-of" claim should name the specific substance, so "without harsh chemicals" falls short. Greencheq lists every relevant qualifier, shows whether your claim satisfies it, explains why, and factors the result into the claim's risk score.
Does Greencheq rewrite my claims for me?
Greencheq gives specific recommendations for your consideration, such as naming the excluded substance or citing a recognized certification. Your team writes and approves the final wording, so the claim stays in your brand voice and your reviewers stay accountable for it.
What is claim substantiation?
Claim substantiation is the evidence that proves a claim is true, such as test results, formulation records or certificates. In Greencheq (Pro and above) you attach and track substantiation against each claim, so the proof sits beside the claim it supports when someone asks for it.
Can my team review and approve claims together?
Yes. Every paid seat includes Reviewers at no extra charge. Reviewers can read, comment on and approve claims and see the claim history. Pro adds approval routing, so each claim reaches the right people in the right order.
What is the Greencheq Information Hub?
The Information Hub is Greencheq's built-in library of green marketing claim regulations, guidance, enforcement cases and worked examples. It is included with every paid plan (Pro, Team and Enterprise), Reviewers included, so your team can see the rule behind each finding rather than taking it on trust. The Information Hub is not included in the Free account.
Regulations and greenwashing
What is greenwashing?
Greenwashing is making environmental claims that are vague, exaggerated or unsupported, so a product looks more sustainable than it is. It is often unintentional: a claim like "eco-friendly" with no qualification can mislead even when the product has genuine benefits. Greencheq helps teams catch these claims before they publish.
Which regulations does Greencheq check claims against?
Greencheq checks claims against more than 75 regulations, directives, codes and guidance documents on environmental claims across more than 25 jurisdictions. It also evaluates claims against Greencheq best practice drawn from experience.
Every finding cites the rule or section it comes from, including best practices defined by Greencheq.
Do I need to check green claims separately for each market?
Often, yes. A claim that is acceptable in the US can be restricted in the EU, and vice versa. Greencheq shows which framework each finding comes from, so you can see where a claim needs different wording for a different market. Multi-market separation is available on the Enterprise license tier.
How does Greencheq keep up with regulatory changes?
The Greencheq team regularly scans international authorities, judicial cases, associations and more for the latest regulatory signals around the world. Once formally adopted, and often before they are enforced, regulations and their rules are integrated into the Greencheq knowledge system.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Pro is the plan for checking your own claims end to end: the Information Hub, full claim risk assessments, claim substantiation (criteria and documentation checks), internal approval routing, the full claim dashboard, and 5 Reviewer seats included at no extra charge. There is also no monthly limit on the number of claim risk assessments you can complete.
What is a Reviewer?
A Reviewer is a Greencheq seat assigned to another company employee who can read, comment on and/or approve claims, see the claim history, and use the Information Hub. Reviewers are included free with every paid seat: 5 per Pro seat and 10 per Team or Enterprise seat. They are ideal for legal, regulatory and brand approvers.
How much does Greencheq cost?
Pro costs $5,000 per seat per year, billed annually, and includes 5 Reviewers at no extra cost. Team and Enterprise pricing is provided when you contact Greencheq.
Can I upgrade from Free to Pro, or from Pro to Team?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time. Upgrade from Free to Pro immediately by selecting "Upgrade" once you are logged into your Free account. To upgrade from Pro to Team, contact us at sales@greencheqai.com.
Do I need Team or Enterprise?
Choose Team when several people review claims together and need admin roles, customization and institutional memory. Choose Enterprise when you need single sign-on, audit-trail export, separate brands or markets, or API access. Plans are defined by what they unlock, not by company size.
Can I see a demo before I buy?
Yes. Book a demo and we'll walk through a review of your own claims. Book a free 30-minute demo.
Legal, data and security
Is Greencheq legal advice?
No. Greencheq is not legal advice and does not verify or certify claims. It informs human review by your team and counsel, and keeps a record of how each claim was assessed and approved.
What am I not allowed to say?
You must not say or suggest that Greencheq has checked, verified, certified or approved your claims. This applies everywhere: on your website, packaging, marketing, reports and investor materials, and in conversations, emails, sales calls or meetings. Examples that are not allowed include:
- "Greencheq-verified" or "Greencheq-approved"
- "Our claims have been checked by Greencheq"
- "Validated through Greencheq"
- Placing the Greencheq name or logo next to a specific environmental claim, or using it in a way that looks like a seal, badge or label
Can I use the Greencheq logo?
You may only use the Greencheq logo for internal communications and training. The Greencheq logo must never be used on material, digital or physical, that is shared externally.
Using the Greencheq logo inappropriately may falsely suggest that a product, its packaging or other material has been verified, validated or certified by Greencheq for an environmental, social or health benefit. Doing so would violate our Terms and Conditions.
Who owns the claims and evidence I upload?
You, the customer, own the claims, documentation and all information entered into the platform, as well as the information Greencheq's AI produces for your claim assessments. All information entered by users or AI is retained on the platform for a duration you define.
We recommend keeping data on the platform for at least five years, so institutional memory is captured and available to future users. All data and information entered into Greencheq can be deleted immediately at your request.
Is my marketing copy used to train AI models?
No. Marketing copy, documentation uploads, claim edits and internal comments are not used to train or improve any model owned by Greencheq or a third party.
Can I export a record of our claim reviews?
Yes, on Enterprise. Audit-trail export gives you a record of who reviewed, changed and approved each claim, and when. This is useful when a regulator, retailer or court asks how a claim was substantiated and signed off.
